The failure of intrusive advertising

BIKEmagic are currently running a very intrusive pop-over advert on the front page of the site. It conveniently obscures the main page after about 2 seconds, and there seems to be no way to avoid it. It’s almost as irritating as the banner ad they run occasionally which makes irritating alarm-clock noises.

Actually there is one way to avoid the pop-over ad, I just close the browser as soon as it starts to open the ad, that way I don’t have to look at it, and BIKEMagic loses out on a reader while the ad is running. I still have no idea what the ad is for, some sort of mapping company maybe? The alarm-clock one causes similar browser-closing actions as the noise is somewhat unwelcome in an office environment.
