What a farce

For the second season running, the team that dominated the rugby premiership league all season goes home with nothing.

Last season Gloucester won the league by miles, yet lost in the final. This year Bath won the league almost as convincingly, but yet again lose out in the final to Wasps.

It just makes a mockery of the whole league season if everything ends up getting decided by one match three weeks after the end of the season.

    it sucked terribly.
it works out that finishing not top is better. plus there shouldn;t be a 3 week wait to settle it.

    stupid stupid stupid
however if bath had taken their chances they could have won.

On a slightly related note, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who had won the right to promotion to the Scottish Premier League, today lost a vote by the other SPL teams to see if they would be let in. Something to do with minimum stadium capacity apparently, though oddly enough, the team that should have been relegated argued rather strongly against letting Cally Thistle in and even threatened legal action if they were.

It’s all a bit crap really.

This is the second year ina row where a team from the first division has been denied promotion in this way.
