Poor quality training

Sleepless is in two weeks time, and as tradition dictates, I’m not in the peak of condition. I did a 12 mile ride on the cross bike this afternoon, and I’m absolutely knackered now. Admittedly I was also training for the sleep deprivation part by not getting much sleep last night for various reasons, so that probably didn’t help much.

I think I probably need to do quite a bit more riding before Sleepless.

    I’m doing lots. Riding every day for the next week or so, except Wednesday. Good riding too, not just anything. Quarry etc for rest days.

    :-) Glentress tomorrow, a couple of Blairadam
    scouting visits, Pitmedden and Devilla too.

    Should be in okay shape for Sleepless.

    My week of rest has left me rested and uber-refreshed.

    Surely training is against the spirit of the event? (Other than in the drinking department.) Or have I been misled?
