Happy New Year

A slightly belated Happy New Year to all my readers, all 6 of them :)

New Year was spent with Grant in Scotland. We rode Glentress on the Friday, including two runs down the new Spooky Woods which is rather ace, then mistimed midnight quite badly and missed it. Grant was in the toilet, Jen was in the kitchen, and I was trying to find a dummy for Connor.

Saturday was spent sessioning the XBox due to the shite weather, and the drive back today was made "interesting" by blizzards, multiple crashes, and the horror of the M6.

Damn Jools Holland to hell. :-)

  2. Olly says:

I’m guessing it wasn’t you who had the multiple crashes Rich? :)

  3. Simon says:

Sounds lovely. Can’t believe you didn’t ride Saturday due to the weather. The least you could have done was used a sensible excuse like too hungover/tired/lazy like I would have done :^)

Not me luckily, although there were a couple of completely wrecked cars on the motorway south of Glasgow.

People don’t slow down in snow, on Xmas day some twunt barrelled past me in the snow at 100+ mph. I just tip toed along the inside lane at about 30 :o)

P.S. driving in the snow is JUST like a v rally Scandinavian Stage!

  6. rjw says:

They can cope with snow better in Scotland, they are used to it.

This winter I dispensed my ‘use 2nd gear’ advice on many occasions.

    1 person listened :o)

Snow was gone by nightfall. This morning’s Blairadam ride with the dev committee was very flinking wet indeed and muddy.

    Fun though.

  9. Father says:

And there were no haggis captured!
I will have to make do with a sassenach haggis!

  10. Olly says:

    Rich didn’t forget did he!?

  11. rjw says:

I didn’t forget, I just couldn’t find the required haggis size or shape.
