This morning I managed to finished my Christmas shopping, at least I hope I’ve finished it. Town wasn’t too painful thanks to it being a weekday morning, although I still despise shopping in real shops.
After lunch I took the Stiffee out round the Uni for a quick spin, the chainsuck didn’t reoccur, but the brakes are shockingly bad. The front one squeals continuously, and both brakes locked up after the descent from the downs back to the canal. I’ll have a go at bleeding the brakes and hopefully that’ll sort them out. Ideally I’d like to replace them with some Shimano ones, but that’s not really cost effective, I could steal the XT ones of the Craftworks, but that leaves me with brakes of the wrong size on each bike, so the E4s will have to do for the moment.

Ooooo that’s a nice stiffee :)
Have you de-stickered the forks?
I might desticker the chameleon, for that ‘looks cheap and shit[1]‘ look ;)
[1] sorry, Father.
Yup, destickered them ages ago. It’s to hide the fact that they are cheap Marzocchis :)
LOL.
I could desticker the forx, but i think the sticker might be the only thing holding them together ;)
they were VERY flappy today.
Get them mended Matt, they’re totally shagged.
Yeah, I should, and fix the rest of the bike, thing is..I can;t be arsed and have way too many other things to do.

Yay. Make sure you do have those days off. DON’T DO ANY WORK!
(I’m 0.75miles behind now)
I’m going to admit defeat then, my legs ache a bit this morning so I’m probably not going to ride today.
I’ve started having thoughts about reaching 4000km again but it seems a long way away with not much time left. My legs are quite tired, this is the 5th day in a row I’ve ridden.
I did briefly consider aiming for 2500 miles, but I’ll leave that for next year :)
“Yay. Make sure you do have those days off. DON’T DO ANY WORK!”
Erm… well I promised Smiffy a site, I have loads of other things to do too, I bet it rains loads so riding is not appealing.
I have just had to buy MORE disc pads, I’ve neen though 8 sets this year, 3 sets in 3 weeks!
That’s just crazy, you must brake way too much.
nope, it’s just ride a lot.
I reckon I use my front brake at least twice as much as the rear one, but my rear pads always wear out twice as quickly. This is probably something to do with the rear caliper always being full of soil ;-)
Anyone told the Stiffy joke yet?
