A Stiffee Revelation

The Stiffee now has it’s shiny new RockShox Revelation 426 Air U-Turn forks on it. A quick test ride confirmed that they work, but the rugby this afternoon precluded a longer test.Tomorrow I might swap the brakes over and stick the nicer XTs on the Stiffee, and might even get the road bike out and clean it up if I’m feeling energetic.

Cool. My back is still broken so no riding for me. Been watching rugby and winter olympics instead. Took the forx off the Kona to give them a bit of a going over as well.

I fixed the kaboom *again* (I know why the skewer snapped the other week – the tug didn’t go inside the little recess groove so levered it’s way out and then bent the thread, which subsequently snapped)

I then almost made the Surly work again.

Then I couldn’t figure what part of the broken freewheel to saw off, then I smashed some bearings out of a hope hub, and reaslied that the ‘toothed’ bit for the pawls to jam against is very rounded, I hope HOPE can pop a new one in.

    Then I got a headache.

I also bought 2.1 NBXs instead of 2.3’s so now I have great summer tyres, but no great front tyre for the surly, so that has the old one from the chameleon, which was removed because it didn’t grip much.. all my other spare tyres seem to have red sidewalls, and that’s a bit clashy with pink.

    My what a long reply!
