I thought my ADSL was slow…
…until I went back to using a plain old 512K ADSL connection. It makes mine feel positively speedy by comparison. All part of the joys of babysitting.
In other news, Canon today announced a new digital SLR, the 30D, and a couple of lenses. The 30D is basically a 20D with most of the issues like a lack of spot metering fixed, however it still uses the same 8.2MP sensor which is no bad thing really. However going by some of the forums I read, as a result of this everyone will switch to Nikon, and Canon will be out of business by the end of the week. Just the usual web forum uninformed bollocks really, however it makes for quite amusing reading.

Yeah, the Spot metering was the only thing that is really any different, the FPS is different too, but for 950quid I’m happy with my 20d.
the 20d does centre weighted metering anyway, which you can use to target the metering more accurately, I just forget which little icon it is ;)

LOL
I was drooling over the new 85mm 1.2L MK II today, shame it’s 2100 euros (no idea what that is in proper cash money)

I only worked out how to change the metering modes on my 20D last week so I don’t think I’ve missed not having spot metering :)
