The main bit of floor is now finished. All I need to do tomorrow is drill, screw, and varnish the edging we’re using to cover up all the rough edges. Then I can start to move everything back in again, that should take most of the next week or so.

Did Father manage to handled the tools properly today?
There was far less blood today.
Mind you, I’ve got a prolonged bout of screwing planned for tomorrow, so there is still time for a trip to A&E.
The ‘rough edges’ were caused by the complete absence of any right angles any where in the room. Even the fire place contrived to be at a differant angle to all four walls, and the alcoves are of differant depths! Cosmetic enhancement is the technical term for the use of ‘edging strips’.
It’s common to use edging strips anyway as you need leave a little gap to allow the boards to expand, so everyone ends up doing it roughly.
I know your pain of no right angles. I’ll never put laminate down again unless it’s for a quickfix to sell.
I said that the last time I did it!
Now look!
The scars are healing though.
