Tonight we headed out in the direction of Northend and up through the valley to the back of Bannerdown. Janine was on her new Kona Jake and somewhat unimpressed by the hills we had to ride up. I ended up leaving Ian and Janine behind once we reached Batheaston and heading back on my own slightly quicker pace.
I took the Ribble tonight partly because I wanted to give it another proper test ride, and partly because it’s triple chainset would be handy on the climb out of Northend which kicks up quite a bit for the last few hundred yards or so. It’s almost finished now, the chain needs shortening a tad, it could do with a flatter stem, and it needs a new headset once we can work out what sort it needs.
Only 15.5 miles with 1387ft/423m of climbing in the end.
Kylie needs an extra Fosters or two!
You’ve ridden more then me this month.
Absolutely horrendous conditions here today.
I presume you didn’t ride today then?
I only did 21.5 miles.
You are correct.. it was silly windy.. today is willy windy + rain.. ace..
/waves fist at global climate change.
I’m ahead now, unless you rode to work.
23.75 miles today, am I winning again?
