It was a bit of an ordeal tonight. I headed out to meet Ian for what’s quickly becoming our new usual route. It wasn’t raining much to start with, but it was pretty wet under tyre. However once we went our separate ways at the Pink House the rain got heavier. The mile long climb out of the valley is usually quite nice, but with the rain coming down it became a bit of a slog. The descent back into town was almost the worst bit, the standing water soaked me to the skin, I’m sure I wrung at least a pint out of each sock.
By far the worst part though was the fact that the rain nicely rehydrated the dried sweat in my helmet pads, and gave a constant stream of salty water down my face and into my nose and mouth. It was very very unpleasant, I’m having to force myself to wash the taste away with an emergency beer or three.
At least my front light lasted for a complete ride this time.
i’m actually being sick…. its everywhere.. floors, walls… yuk
How do you thing I feel? I had to drink the stuff :(
LOL, you can’t beat the smell of rehydrated sweat, rain water and usually a little bit of snot.. mmm
Point to note, since using a bandana thing I rarely get soggy helmet pads, therefore not much dribbles down my face when it rains.
I avoid it by not going out in the rain. Glad the lights worked :)
As well as being a suitable candidate for “How Clean is Your House” perhaps it ought to be “How Clean is Your Helmet”……..
and “You are what you Eat” ;)
Ferenc Puskas 1927-2006 RIP
That’ll be the curse of HMHB striking again.
I can think of Rod Hull, who else?
The Pope.
Lev Yashin
Me lost
Lech Walesa
Thora Hird
Avon
This is getting silly :)
Mornington Crescent? Or am I a bit previous?
Rich, would you like to enlighten people?
If only you’d give me my Lev Yashin poster back
Six months ago I returned your brown anorak
But you keep forgetting
And its far too upsetting
So baby Ferenc Puskas to you, to you
Baby Ferenc Puskas to you
That doesn’t help much does it?
Doesn’t float my boat!
Nor mine, not a huge HMHB fan.
Aha… half man, half biscuit… i am familiar with their work… (not)
Bourbons preferably. Or custard creams.
Bring back Jestives.
Personally I liked Royal Scot but nobody makes them anymore.
I like chocolate digestives
Hob-nobs anyone?
Choccy digestives were on special offer in the coop today but I resisted.
Was it the nuimber 72 or 71 bus?. which ever it was I’ve BEEN ON IT ;)
I like the number 71 bus. It’s far superior to the number 72 in my opinion.
