Robbery ruins diet
The local Somerfield is closed today due to "unforseen circumstances", i.e. someone broke in and nicked all the cash. Due to that I couldn’t have a nice healthy lunch and had to make do with a Chow Mein from the takeaway along the road. It’s a hard life.

Apparently it’s nearly christmas
Three cards have turned up so far, and I’m off for my first roast-Turkey dinner of the year tonight.
It doesn’t feel like christmas yet though.

New Model Army – Oxford Academy
Tonights gig came complete with a free sauna as someone forgot to turn the air-con on until the first encore. Very good, but very very hot.

Silence is golden, but it can get a bit boring
Last night, just a few minutes before the end of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip the power went out. With no external stimuli available I had to resort to drinking whiskey by candle light. Eventually Western Power turned up and cut the power to the whole street. The power still wasn’t back by the time I ran out of whiskey at 2am, but had reappeared by 5:30.
I’m amazing how quiet the house is when there is no power at all. It’s also amazing how cold it gets when the central heating is off due to the aforementioned lack of power.
Just to make things even better, I got to work to find that an air-con unit had leaked and flooded a server, then after getting back to the office to start my first mug of coffee of the day (at 11:15), the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building.
I never did see the end of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, but I have a long last started to drink my coffee.

We’re out!
A summer blissfully free of football is on the cards.
Thanks to Croatia and Russia for all their hard work in making this possible.

Breakage
I’ve just broken the back off a tooth. Fortunately it isn’t hurting (yet), and all being well the dentist will sort it out tomorrow morning.
