I’ve just retired my Shimano PD-M525 pedals from regular use, I reckon I bought them in 1992.
I’ve been though 3 sets of pedals in 16 months. Hopefully I can find some new balls to fit in them, though.
These have gone all baggy. I don’t think it’s worth trying to rebuild them any more.
I just buy 520s for 15 quid everytime I need new pedals or cleats.
I retired my 747s after 10ish year’s usewith no servicing as one of them had gone a bit wobbly. No point rebuilding them when you can get 520s for about £15 really (I haven’t got the tool to get the axle out either)
Matt, it is no wonder you have quickly gone through 3 pairs if you keep trying to fit balls in them, I always thought you used your feet.
