I had my first appointment with the Physio this morning and somewhat unhelpfully my back wasn’t actually hurting. After running through a list of questions she got me to undress and tested the reflexes in my legs, finding them somewhat lacking. Then I had to bend in all sorts of unnatural directions while she felt my lower back, followed by having to lie face-down while she poked and prodded my lower spine, I suspect I enjoyed it slightly more than she did.
Apparentley there is some tightness in my lower back when bending backwards, so I’ve got a set of stretches to do to see if that helps, and if not I can self-refer myself for another appointment. If it starts playing up again she’ll try and fit me in that day if I ring and ask nicely.
The NHS is not there for enjoyment! It’s there for pain and suffering and catching something nastier than you went in with!
It’s ok, some strains of Ebola can take a day or two to set in….
