The front bushings are on the way out, as are the front disks, and it's not been running smoothly for a while. The vague plan at the moment is to replace it with a newer diesel Mondeo, and hope that lasts me ten years like this one. If it's welding, probably time to get rid, I reckon it's a bit of a losing battle when it gets to that point. Given how much you (don't) drive, do you even need to own a car? Might be cheaper to hire one when you need it, and then you can get one that's ideally suited to the job in hand and nearly always new ;-) Depends what the money’s going on.
