#18 – Cidade de Deus

City of God is the first foreign-language film we’ve attempted so far, and unusually for me a subtitled film that can keep my attention all the way to the end.

If you need to ween yourself onto foreign language films I can recommend #42, Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain. I’m amazed that Delicatessen, another Jeunet and Caro film, didn’t make the cut. It rates 7.9 with 22893 votes, which would tag it onto the end but I suppose that about another 60 films also got 7.9 and you have to make the cut somewhere rather than have lots of films ranked 241=.

Au Pair Girls is in English!

City of God is boss. Watched Rightous Killings (New De Niro/Pacino flick), not worth a cinema visits or DVD hire! Worth a download though.
