#121 – The Green Mile

The first film off the list for quite a while, mainly thanks to the early arrival of Ben next door at the start of November. Another Frank Darabont film of a Stephen King story, and a good film though somewhat overshadowed by #2 – The Shawshank Redemption which has returned to it’s rightful spot at #1 since we started our list.

Not seen it. Shawshank Redemption rocks though.

I need to find some money so that I can get a blu ray player, although then I’d then need to find some money for some discs for it!

You can get players for under a ton these days. Discs are still a bit pricey though, I’ve still only got 24 after 18 months, although 4 of those are box-sets.

I think I will wait until I win the lottery.

I actually had money when DVDs arrived and was perfectly happy to pay £400 for a player (which I’m still using). How times change!

  4. rich says:

My DVD player was something like £900 when it came out. I paid quite a bit less, but it was still a lot.

  5. rich says:

Looks like I paid £600 for it!

  6. Simon says:

    That’s quite a lot :)

You probably got it earlier than I got mine.

  7. rich says:

Got my first one in Feb 2000, then this one in Oct 2002.

  8. Simon says:

Think mine was 2000, about a year after the telly that died a few weeks back. A quick google search reveals I can now get a spare for £4.99 on ebay!
