Shuttleworth August Evening Airshow 2012

Our first visit to a Saturday evening display at Old Warden, a much more relaxed affair than the Sunday displays.

Some new work was taking place in the workshop

The de Havilland DH88 Comet is undergoing work, rumours are that it will be flying before the end of the season provided they can find someone daft enough to pilot it.

The Grumman Wildcat is undergoing work, it’ll eventually appear painted up as a Grumman Martlet at some point in the future.

On loan from The Vintage Aviator Ltd are replicas of an RAF RE8

a Sopwith Snipe

and somewhere still in hiding is a Albatros DVa, I believe all will eventually be heading for the RAF Museum at Hendon, the RE8 and Albatross will fly at Old Warden for a while beforehand though.
