Chew Valley with VC Walcot

Back out for the VC Walcot Easyriders ride again this morning after a few weeks off. A few first time riders were out today so Alf, our leader for the day, opted for plan B and a trip out to Chew Valley Lake and back. We had the obligatory stop for cake at Chew Valley, then finished off with a trip to Chelsea Road Cafe for yet more cake where we met up with the faster riders after their 60-mile loop.

The new wheels and shoes both worked well, there was a little discomfort from the right shoe to start with due to the higher arch than I’m used to, but it soon settled down and they proved to be very comfortable. The only downside was catching some grit in a brakepad and wearing a silver stripe onto one side of the front rim.
