A superb few hours of music, repartee, and seemingly endless guitar tuning. Between them, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick can make a 5 minute song last well over quarter of an hour by the time they’ve retuned, told you where the song came from, retuned again, thrown in a few anecdotes, and then finally remembered to play the song.
The results are now up on the British Cycling site. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/98979/South-Region-Circuit-Race-Championships#results
The medal winners.
This final race of the day was for the E,1,2,3 Cat racers, and lasted for 60 minutes plus 3 laps.

Back to the championship races and it was time for the Juniors and Women, this time over 45 minutes plus 3 laps. Yet again the women’s race was very poorly attended with just three lining up alongside the 7 juniors.
The second of the open support races was for 3rd Cat riders over 40 minutes plus 3 laps. Again no medals, just BC points on offer.

The third race of the day was the first of the open support races, this one for 4th Cat racers only over 35 minutes plus 3 laps, and just for BC points rather than medals.

Second race of the day was for the U14 and U16 categories, this time for 25 minutes plus 2 laps.
The first race of the day was the combined U8, U10, and U12 categories. Originally due to be run as two separate races on different parts of the circuit, they were rolled into one single race of 15 minutes plus one lap due to low numbers.
I’ve been planning the replacement of my aging Ribble Audax for around 18 months now, and the end result is this:
A 63cm 2013 Kinesis TK3 built up with a Campagnolo drivetrain, Velo Orange Grand Cru brakes, and mostly 3T finishing kit.
Despite my plans to just do a frame swap, the only part carried over from the Ribble is the SKS mudguards. The drivetrain and wheels came from the Firebird when I upgraded to 11spd earlier in the year, and the finishing kit is more or less all new.
