Twenty years ago today I bought a house. I’ve still not decorated some of the rooms properly.
This is the last film on the list that I’ve seen before, so from here on in it’s uncharted territory.
I watched this a number of years ago on DVD and remember not being overly impressed, but the 3+ hour running time might have had something to do with that.
A film I know absolutely nothing about, and which was chosen tonight purely for it’s running time.
The longest film remaining on the list clocking in a 3 hours 49 minutes, so it’s a fairly early start to get it all in in one evening.
I have seen it before, but have so far resisted re-watching it due to the rather daunting length.
That’s The Seventh Seal to you and me.
All I know about this is that it’s the inspiration for the famous Death scenes in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
This is one of very few films where the entire cast were nominated for an Oscar for their performance.
A near soul-crushingly long film coming in at a shade under 3.5 hours, and it’s not even the longest film on the list.
The second of two Vittorio De Sica films on the list, the other being Ladri di Biciclette/Bicycle Thieves.
I’m watching the original obviously, not the remake. I have seen this before but not for a good few years now.
This is the first of the films I didn’t already own, couldn’t rent from Lovefilm, and couldn’t find on Netflix, so I’ve resorted finding alternative methods to view it. Still, it’s given me an excuse to play with MrMC aka Kodi aka XBMC aka XBox Media Centre on my Apple TV4. It’s moved on a lot since I used to use it on my original XBox.
