It’s going to be one of those days
Friday, June 1st, 2007, 10:16 amI came downstairs to find that Hobbes had confused the livingroom carpet with his litter tray, and then I managed to break my Animal titanium watch.
I wish I’d just stayed in bed.

Hobbes has just completed the double-whammy of being sick on the landing, then doing the most revolting, disgusting, repulsive festering liquid poo imaginable under my computer desk. He’s now living on borrowed time.
Due to an ever increasing list of illnesses, Hobbes now has to take more medicine than any cat should have to deal with.
Morning
Afternoon
Evening
Unsurprisingly, he doesn’t like me very much at the moment as everytime he comes near me, I thrown another handful of pills or squirt a foul tasting liquid into the back of his throat.
Also none of this comes cheap. Today’s trip to the vet cost me about the same as the Kenko Pro 300 DG 1.4X Teleconverter I had planned to order at the end of the month. That’ll have to wait a bit longer I think.
Update: Just to spite me, Hobbes did the worlds smelliest poo just inside the front door as I was about to leave for skittles. I was actually sick whilst trying to clean it up.
Hobbes seems to be enjoying the remains of the baked bean juice left on my dinner plate, which seems slightly strange. He’s obviously recoved from the mustard incident which gave him something of an aversion to licking plates.
Al has just turned up for video night clutching a couple of ginger and lemon herbal teabags. Hobbes found the second one on the arm of the chair and promptly went mad, drooling everywhere and rubbing his head all over the bag. Very odd indeed.
Hobbes doesn’t have cancer, it’s apparently a form of irritable bowel syndrome, the steroids he’s on will help with that.
New year was good, but I drank far too much. I’m abstaining from alcohol for at least another hour.
I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to ride a bike offroad. Maybe I’ll rectify that one day in the not too distant future.
Hobbes isn’t well. In addition to the existing FIV and thyroid problem, he’s now got either lymphoma or adenocarcinoma, we should know more tomorrow when we get the result of the biopsy. If it’s lympoma apparently it can be treated to an extent with Prednisolone, if it’s adenocarcinoma it can’t be treated.
He spent the day at the vets today for tests and came home minus large patches of fur where they’d taken blood and done an ultrasound scan. There was of course the astronomical bill to go with it. He is at least eating food again which is something he’s not done for nearly a week.
Hobbes seems to be doing his best to bankrupt me at the moment though various illnesses, currently he’s got FIV, a thyroid problem, and a suspected throat infection. There was another trip to the vet today and consequently another bill for £100. He’s got to go back again on Wednesday for more injections and the associated hit to the credit card.
To make things worse, it’s still raining and therefore I’ve not ridden a bike since last Wednesday, and looking at the weather forecast and other commitments, I don’t think I’ll be riding one anytime soon.
Networked Tivos are ace. Thanks to the web interface and some nifty tools I can control it all through a web browser and copy programs off onto my computer if I feel the need.
On the bad side, it turns out Hobbes has FIV and possibly a thyroid problem as well.
At least it’s Friday.
Hobbes has been feeling a bit left out as he’s not had a picture on here since he broke his foot, so here he is reclining on the sofa.

I think I need a sturdier tripod though.
