Shuttleworth Autumn Air Show – October 2011

Encouraged by promising forecasts just two of us made the journey across country to Old Warden for the last Shuttleworth Collection air show of the year, and given the weather we had, you’d never believe it was October. It was lovely and hot, with pretty much clear blue skies all day, with the display lasting from 2pm until well after 6pm.

Shuttleworth Pageant Air Show – September 2011

At midday we were sat in the car hiding from the torrential rain and wondering if we’d driven across the country for nothing more than a cup of warm brown liquid purporting to be coffee. The 2pm start for the display was pushed back to 3pm by which time the rain had stopped. The sun occasionally made a bit of an appearance behind us, and by the end of the display we had some blue sky and lovely golden sunshine.

Royal International Air Tattoo 2011

My first trip to Fairford for RIAT, and the weather looked like it wasn’t behaving itself. Torrential rain for a lot of the morning, but fortunately whilst we were sat in the car. My midday it had started to clear, and we actually had some decent sun for the latter part of the afternoon.

Finished?

With the addition of a 3T ARX Pro stem, the Singular Firebird is now finished.

Anyone know who makes this stem?

Well, I say finished, but is a bike ever truly finished?

Shuttleworth Mid-Summer Air Display

It didn’t really live up to it’s name of the “Mid-Summer Air Display”.

We gambled with the weather, and to be honest, we didn’t win. Whilst it didn’t rain until the end of the display, yet again the flying was disrupted because of the wind, and there was full cloud cover for most of the day. My photos were pretty uninspiring, here are a few of the best of a bad bunch.
