Treasurers vs Housing Admin

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006, 10:04 pm

A quick night tonight, partly due to a speedy sticker-up, but mainly because we won 5-0, and by 31 pins which was pretty much their average score for a leg.

Housing Admin took the full 8 points, Treasurers went home empty handed.

Housing Admin vs BARDS

Monday, December 11th, 2006, 10:57 pm

Tonight started off with Tony and myself playing a pairs match. Unfortunatley we lost 5-1, however the game was closer than the final score line would indicate. We were scoring about 11, they were getting 12 or 13.

A few pints later the proper match started. We swapped legs until it got to 4-3 to us, then we managed to buck the trend and win the 8th leg to take the match 5-3, however we lost the pins in the process.

Housing Admin took 7 points, BARDS took 4.

BARDS vs Housing Admin

Not the best of nights for us. BARDS managed to win the first two legs before all their team had even arrived. Somehow we managed to win the third leg, but that was as good as it got.

BARDS won 5-1 and took the full 8 points, Housing Admin went home with a solitary point.

Housing Admin vs Bath Hospitals - Pins Cup 2nd round

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006, 10:46 pm

Consistency was the keyword for the start of the night as we threw 5 consecutive legs of 47 putting us 10 pins ahead. However we managed to lose all of our lead in the 6th leg leaving both teams tied heading into the penultimate leg. We showed a leg of 48 which was lower than we would have liked, but luckily Bath Hospitals only threw 43 to lose by 5 pins.

Housing Admin reached 315, Bath Hospitals reached 310 which means Housing Admin advance to the semi-final.

Yet again they forgot to cook any food for us until we reminded them, luckily they found a few sausages to go with some chips.

Our next match is a league game on Thursday night.

Housing Admin vs Treasurers - Nomination Cup 2nd round

Monday, November 27th, 2006, 10:23 pm

I hate playing in the Nomination Cup with a passion you can only dream of. Despite that, I actually did OK in the first two legs then went down hill a bit which coincided with our first lost leg. Luckily it was the only leg we lost and we went on to win 5-1.

Housing Admin advance to the semi-finals which will be played on a neutral alley. The Treasurers are saved from the torture of another Nomination Cup match until next season. However both teams went home hungry because the club forgot to cook any food for us.

Housing Admin vs Larks

Monday, November 20th, 2006, 10:45 pm

Apparently we lost 5-3 last week, partly due to only managing to find 7 players instead of the requisite 8.

Tonight was a somewhat better match. We should have won 5-1 but the bottom half cocked things up a bit meaning we only won 5-3. Fortunately that meant we were in control of the table when our badly cooked sausage and chips turned up.

Housing Admin took the full 8 points, Larks took 2.

This is a somewhat belated report due to the fact that for the first time in several years I actually missed a game. The match took place last Thursday and not entirely unsurprisingly we lost. The return match starts in about 45 minutes and hopefully my return to the team will rejuvenate us and bring a nice victory.

Somehow I doubt it though.

Housing Admin vs Extras

Monday, October 23rd, 2006, 10:31 pm

Supersubs Louise and Darren were playing tonight, and we had another stunning match.

In an act of selfless generosity we let Extras win one legs, but convicingly beat them in the other five to win 5-1.

Housing Admin took the full 8 points, Extras crawled home with a solitary point.

A new alley for us tonight. We’d heard rumours of it being outside, and fairly long, and the rumours turned out to be true. However we played probably one of our best matches for years, solidly thrashing the home team in a 5-0 stylee.

Housing Admin took the full 8 points, Extras skulked off home empty handed.

Rumour has it that the Extras will withdraw from the league at Christmas, hopefully the sound thrashing we gave them will hasten their departure, although it would mean we’d lose the 8 points we gained tonight.

Nomination Cup: Bath Hospitals vs Housing Admin

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006, 11:06 pm

A very messy game tonight, it took us four attempts before we actually got a leg where no-one scored a 0. We lost the first leg but then went 1-3 up, however we then slipped a bit bringing it back to 3-3 before we finally won 3-5.

Housing Admin advance to the next round.
